Services

Helping Hands Therapy is dedicated to improving independence and providing the highest level of care and support to our clients. We treat clients with a wide variety of disabilities, illnesses, delays, and injuries. Almost any diagnosis resulting in decreased ability to perform basic daily activities may be appropriate for the therapeutic services that we provide.

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational Therapists help clients achieve the highest level of functional independence in the areas of self care, home management and community integration. At a basic level, OT focuses treatment on the recovery of function necessary to engage in daily activities such as bathing, grooming, eating, dressing and/or toileting. OT is usually recommended for clients with deficits resulting from arthritis, hand and arm injury, stroke rehabilitation, impaired vision, respiratory disorders, neurological disorders and developmental delays.

Physical Therapy (PT)

Physical Therapists help clients achieve the highest level of functional independence by improving strength, mobility, balance and coordination. This is accomplished through pain reduction, disability reduction and function restoration. PT is usually recommended for body aches and pain, arthritis, sports injuries, post surgical recovery, post fracture recovery, stroke, chronic wound care, difficulty walking, abnormalities, developmental delays and impaired balance.

Speech Therapy (ST)

Speech Therapists help clients identify and overcome the challenges associated with communication and/or swallowing disorders. Treatment is commonly given for disorders of articulation, fluency, voice, language, cognition (reasoning and thinking), dysphagia, and aphasia. ST is usually recommended for clients with deficits resulting from developmental delays, post stroke recovery, stuttering, language disorders, voice disorders, difficulty swallowing, hearing disorders and vestibular dysfunction.
